Irma Favela-Slater, PA-C

Irma is the inspiration of Mission Center Healthcare. Moving from Mexico at age 15, Irma picked strawberries, grapes and other crops for several years before pursuing her long-held dream of providing high-quality healthcare for families. Now, more than 20 years after graduating from the Stanford University Primary Care Associate Program with a specialty in family medicine, Irma Favela-Slater, PA-C continues to have a special place in her heart for the people of South County.

R. Giuseppi Slater, M.D., FAAFP, President and CEO

Dr. Slater has more than 25 years of experience, including extensive medical work in Latin America. He is certified by the American Board of Family Practice, of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and also the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine of the American Association of Physician Specialists. He was an Assistant Clinical Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine for over 10 years, teaching emergency medicine residents and working at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, a Level 1 Trauma Center. He also was the Emergency Department Director at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital for over 10 years before opening Mission Center Healthcare. He has published papers in emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine and public health. Dr. Slater directs the Center’s advanced urgent care and occupational medicine programs and also practices family medicine.

Deane Crow, M.D.

Dr. Crow was the director of the Emergency Department at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. He also has very extensive experience in occupational medicine, and urgent care. His 30 plus years of clinical practice experience, both hospital and office based, and his ability to speak Spanish make him a welcome addition to our medical staff.
